This Snow White Birthday Party has a forest picnic theme with lots of woodland decorations and themed food, including desserts.

My youngest daughter wanted a Snow White Birthday Party when she turned 5. We had dressed her as Snow White on her first Halloween and when we went to Disney World when she was 2, so this seemed like the perfect theme for her.
Since Snow White is set in the forest, I decided to gear the decorations toward the theme of a picnic in the forest. My sister has a bunch of woodland decor that she let me borrow, like faux tree stumps, small animals, and a large acorn.
As I do with all of my other themed parties, I relied heavily on items I already had around the house, as well as inexpensive balloons and disposable tablecloths to bring in color.
Here, I'll go through all of the party decorations and themed food, as well as provide sources.
Table Decor
To create the backdrop for the food table, I hung a long strand of hemp twine toward the large of this foundation wall under our deck in our backyard. Then, I draped alternating yellow, blue and red disposable tablecloths so that only a few feet hung in the back and the longer portion hung in front of the twine to create a colorful background.
I attached pearlized yellow, blue and red balloons to a balloon decorating strip and secured them at the top with thin curling ribbon.
I used a red and white gingham patterned picnic style tablecloth for the food table.
For the focal point of the backdrop, I purchased this ornate wooden frame and placed a photo of my daughter in her Snow White costume from Disney World. I balanced the frame inside a wicker basket filled with faux greenery and daisies.

I ended up re-using this frame for this Parisian Cafe Birthday and also an Alice in Wonderland Birthday.
I stacked the wicker basket on top of a white faux stump to give it more height. On top of the stump I added some red and white mushroom figurines from my daughters' fairy garden as well as some bird figurines that I borrowed from my mom.
To add another taller element, I made this little apple tree by placing a small bundle of twigs inside this hollow faux wooden stump. My uncle made this bundle of twigs for my aunt to hang tiny ornaments by zip tying some fallen branches together. She gave it to me when she no longer needed it, and I use it every fall to make a small Halloween tree and a thankful tree for Thanksgiving.
I found these small apple ornaments that were the perfect size for this tree.

I added some decorative moss to cover the opening, then placed this Doc figurine we already had on top.

To display more of the fairy garden mushroom figurines, I added moss to this glass trifle bowl and placed them on top. I already had the faux potted plant with the white pot.

I filled this rectangular platter with some moss balls I already had.

These fake apples are from my girls' play food that they used with their kitchen set.

I already had this black metal candle lantern and this stuffed squirrel toy, which I placed on top of another faux stump.

The small cottage is from my daughters' fairy garden.

For this framed art, I used a rustic wooden and metal frame that I already had. I saw this type of art on Pinterest, so I designed my own in PowerPoint. I used the "Enchanted Land" font for the main text, which I personalized with Charlotte's name and age. I printed this on off white cardstock before placing in the frame and attaching a red and white gingham ribbon bow.

Paper Products
I ordered these adorable paper plates and napkins from Party City.

I also bought plain red paper napkins and clear plastic cutlery.
Food Labels
For the food labels, I made two different colors of background. One was blue glitter cardstock and the other matte red cardstock.
In PowerPoint, I typed out the text using the "White Poison" font and printed them on off white cardstock. Then, I added some of the red and white checkered ribbon.

Themed Food
This "Poisoned" Apple Cider is just chilled apple cider poured into a clear plastic drink dispenser.

This kid-friendly charcuterie was inspired by my daughter's love of summer sausage! I put squares of cheese, sliced apples (for the Snow White theme, of course), and green olives.

To display some of the Apple Cake Pops, I placed them in a Styrofoam block wrapped in green tissue paper, put the block in a long wicker basket, then covered the block with moss.
This is the same Styrofoam block that I used for these Sesame Street Cake Pops and a few other parties.

For the rest of the cake pops, I placed them in this basket with a square block of Styrofoam I had on hand, and covered it with these red paper crinkles I had in my gift wrap supplies.

For these Chocolate Chip Cookies, I just followed the recipe on the back of the Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips package. This basket is actually from a Dorothy costume that had a little stuffed Toto inside. I even used it on the dessert table for this Wizard of Oz Birthday.
I lined the basket with a red paper napkin and then placed the cookies inside.

Although I did not make these for this party, these No Bake Chocolate Acorn Cookies would have been perfect for this party. I made them for a Winnie the Pooh Birthday, also set in a forest.

My mom made this lettuce salad with fruit.

I used Flamin' Hot Cheetos with the label "Flamin' Hot Firewood" and honey wheat pretzels with the label "Twisted Twigs."

Wherever possible I tired to use wooden bowls to fit with the woodland decor.

Charlotte requested bratwurst for the party, so we kept it simple and served some turkey hot dogs in addition to those. The party food overall was super kid-friendly!

Lastly, this is the Snow White Cake I made. I will share more details on how to make this cake step by step in a future post. In brief, I used my favorite chocolate cake recipe and covered the stump underneath Snow White's dress with whipped ganache.
The moss on the cake board is edible and made from crushed shortbread cookies. Most of the decorative details are fondant, including the gold butterflies, the mushrooms, the bodice of Snow White's dress, and the "5" on the cake board.
