These No Bake Chocolate Acorn Cookies are the cutest addition to a Winnie the Pooh or forest themed birthday party! They are also great for Fall!
I stumbled upon this idea when searching for desserts to go with my daughter's Winnie the Pooh themed birthday party. She mainly wanted a party centered around Piglet.
Many of the Winnie the Pooh party ideas on Pinterest are for baby showers or 1st birthdays. Because my daughter was turning 8, I needed to make a more mature version of this theme, so I focused on the Hundred Acre Wood.
After doing a Snow White theme for her 5th birthday, I already had some ideas that would work for this as well. Thankfully my sister has a bunch of woodland decor that she let me borrow for both parties!
Ingredients
- Mini Nilla wafers
- Milk chocolate Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Assemble the Cookies
For these cookies, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips will be the "glue" that holds everything together.
Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl in the microwave in 30-seconds increments at 50% power until the chocolate is just melted. Use a small silicone spatula to stir between each increment.
Once the chocolate is melted, dip the flat end of an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss in the melted chocolate and then place it on the bottom (flat side) of a mini Nilla wafer cookie.
Repeat with the remaining Kisses. Allow the chocolate to set before proceeding with the next step.
You may need to reheat the melted chocolate at this point if it has begun to solidify.
Dip the flat bottom of a mini chocolate chip in the melted chocolate and place in the center of the top side of the Nilla wafer.
Repeat with the remaining cookies and allow the chocolate to set.
Store the assembled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature until ready to serve.
Gluten Free Option
Use gluten free mini Vanilla wafer cookies. The other ingredients are gluten free.
