This Princess Birthday Party features Sofia the First, butterflies, and lots of purples and pinks. Here, I share all of the decoration details and recipes.

I decorated my youngest daughter's nursery with butterflies. When she was born, we had photos of her taken with purple butterfly wings on her back. Then for her first birthday, I did a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme with Butterfly Cupcakes.
When she asked for a Sofia the First party for her 6th birthday, I immediately thought of the book "Sofia's Perfect Tea Party." Inside the book, a page features some girls having a tea party with butterflies around them. I thought I could combine the princess theme with butterflies for this party.
Sofia's dress is purple and she wears pearls, so I knew both needed to be included in the decor.

Decorations
I saw this adorable line of butterfly decorations at Party City that would tie the theme together perfectly. I ordered plates, napkins, cups, a disposable tablecloth, butterfly wands, lanterns, and a birthday banner.

We had this party outside, so I set up the dessert table in front of a concrete wall. For the backdrop, I hung hemp twine across the top of the wall like a clothesline. Then, I draped alternating colors of disposable tablecloths in pink, light purple, mint, and dark purple.
I added colorful balloons in balloon decorating tape at the top to hide the top of the backdrop.
I hung this "birthday wishes" sign across the center.
Then I hung iridescent foil fans hanging down from the hemp twine at different lengths.

For the food labels, I typed out them out in PowerPoint using the "Enchanted Land" font with dark purple text. I printed these on white cardstock and mounted them on purple cardstock. I added purple ribbon and adhesive rhinestones.

Paper doilies always remind me of tea parties. I placed a large paper doily under the white cake stand.
Since Sofia wears a pearl-trimmed dress, I placed faux pearl necklaces around the table. I also used these necklaces for a Sofia the First Cupcake Cake years ago for another one of my daughters.

Desserts
When I can, I like to do a themed drink, like this Emerald City Punch at the Wizard of Oz Party. To keep with the purple theme, I poured 2 liter bottles of Sprite into this clear drink dispenser and added some purple grape juice to tint it.

These Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars are perfect for themed parties because you tint the frosting any color and decorate with any type of sprinkles. I first made them for this Cinderella Birthday. For this party, I tinted the frosting purple and added pink, blue, and purple sprinkles.

For these Princess Cake Pops, I followed the recipe outlined in this Ruby Red Cake Pops post except I used a white cake mix. When I crumbled the cake, I added Easy Vanilla Buttercream and purple gel food coloring to make the inside purple as well.

Instead of cake pop sticks, I used these plastic princess wands.

I used a mixture of blue and pink candy melts to make purple and then sprinkled them with purple sanding sugar.

My girls love these pastel butter mints. The colors fit the theme too.

For this Butterfly Princess Cake, I used the cake recipe from the Chocolate Layer Cake and filled it with Easy Dulce de Leche Buttercream in between the cake layers. I frosted the outside in Easy Vanilla Buttercream.

I will share more details on how to make this cake soon, I decorated the cake with edible butterflies from Etsy and Sofia the First figures.

I also added this plastic "Happy Birthday" sign that I have used for several birthday cakes.
