These adorable, no bake Golden Teddy Bear Chocolate Covered Oreos are the perfect no bake cookie for a teddy bear birthday party or baby shower.

Your golden birthday is when the number of your age matches the day of the month in which you were born. For my oldest daughter, this happened on her 13th birthday, so I just made a bunch of gold treats rounded up in this Golden Birthday Party post.
For my youngest daughter's Golden Birthday, she was only turning 9, so I decided to do a Golden Teddy Bear theme in honor of her favorite stuffed bears who she calls Huggie and Brown Hug.

I made a dessert table with one half of the table featuring polar bear treats and the other half with teddy bear/brown bear treats, including Polar Bear Cake Pops and Teddy Bear Cake Pops.

My original plan was to have two sets of Oreos: White Fudge Covered Oreos with a single chocolate teddy graham on top and Fudge Covered Oreos with a single honey teddy graham on top.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find White Fudge Oreos. I believe they are only sold in stores around the holidays, and I missed my window of opportunity.
I was able to find Fudge Covered Oreos, so I shifted gears and planned for a single golden Teddy Graham on top of each Oreo.
To do that, I painted honey Teddy Grahams with a liquid suspension of gold luster dust before adhering them to the Oreos.
These ended up being quick to make and looked adorable!

Supplies
- Fudge Covered Oreos
- Honey Teddy Grahams
- Gold luster dust
- Paint palette dedicated to food
- Food grade paintbrush
- Disposable transfer pipette
- Everclear or vodka
- Melted chocolate or royal icing
- Edible gold glitter

I buy my gold luster dust locally, but I have heard good things about the gold luster dust from Truly Mad Plastics.
Paint the Teddy Grahams
To make a gold luster dust suspension, shake some gold luster dust into the well of a food-dedicated paint palette.
Pour some Everclear or vodka into a small bowl. Use a plastic transfer pipette to transfer a few drops of alcohol to the well with the dust. Stir it around with a food grade paintbrush to make the gold suspension.
You may need to add more luster dust or more alcohol depending on the consistency of the suspension.

As you use the suspension on the teddy grahams, you will need to remake more in the same well. The alcohol evaporates quickly, so if you don't use it right away, you will need to add another drop or two to get the suspension back to the original consistency.
Dip the paintbrush into the liquid gold and then brush it across the surface of the teddy graham.

Repeat with the remaining teddy grahams, making more gold dust suspension as needed.

You can see the difference in the painted versus unpainted teddy grahams here.

Because the alcohol evaporates so quickly, the painted bears are now ready to be attached to the Oreos.

Adhere Teddy Grahams to Oreos
To stick the teddy grahams to the Oreos, I melted a small amount of chocolate chips at 50% power in the microwave in 30 second intervals until just melted.
I transferred the melted chocolate to a sandwich bag with a corner snipped off and piped a small dot of chocolate on the back of each teddy graham before placing it in the center of each chocolate covered Oreo.
You could use royal icing instead of chocolate if you have some on hand.

Sprinkle with Edible Glitter
I love this gold edible glitter and find any excuse to use it. I purchased it for my oldest daughter's Golden Birthday Party to use on her ice cream cake and on these Gold Painted Macarons.

I pinched a small amount of the glitter between my thumb and index finger, then carefully rubbed those fingers together while hovering over the cookies to dust them lightly with the glitter.

Storage
Store these cookies at room temperature in an airtight container until serving. They can also be frozen. Allow to come to room temperature before serving.
Gluten Free Option
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find gluten free Teddy Grahams. The closest would be gluten free graham Annie's bunnies or gluten free animal crackers, but you would need to be ok with a different animal.
If you are able to find a suitable gluten free animal for your theme, you then need to deal with the Oreos. I have not been able to find chocolate covered gluten free Oreos, so I recommend making them yourself.
You can melt bittersweet or semi-sweet Ghirardelli chocolate chips at 50% power in the microwave in 30 second increments. Dip gluten free Oreos in the chocolate, just like Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Oreo Truffles, or Cake Pops. Allow the chocolate to set before proceeding to add the gold painted gluten free graham animal.
