Easy Golden Snitch Candies are a simple, quick dessert for a Harry Potter Birthday Party or Dessert Table. They consist of Ferrero Rocher hazelnut chocolate candies with gold glitter cardstock wings.
For my daughter's Harry Potter Birthday Party, we scoured Pinterest to find ideas for the dessert table.
These Golden Snitch Candies immediately caught my eye because they are so fast to assemble and do not require any cooking or baking on my part.
I love to feature a mixture of homemade and semi-homemade treats on dessert tables to save on time.
I think these are so cute, and they really helped add to the decor on the dessert table.
Rather than serving them all together on a single plate, I scattered them around the table in different locations to keep it whimsical as if they were flying around.
I even added one to the adult dining table as a centerpiece.
Although technically I could have made the gold glitter cardstock wings using my Silhouette cutting machine, I decided to purchase them online to save me a lot of time.
The pack of wings was more than I needed for these candies, so I also used them on some Golden Snitch Brigadeiros. Then, I ended up making some Golden Snitch Macarons last minute!
Materials
Remove the Stickers
This step is optional, but I did not like the look of having the Ferrero Rocher sticker underneath the wings, so I carefully took them off.
You want to go slow to avoid tearing the gold foil.
Attach the Wings
First, fold each set of wings in the center so they make a v-shape.
Remove an adhesive circle that comes with the wings and stick it to the fold of the wings, then carefully press it onto the top center of the candy.
Repeat with the remaining candies until all of them have wings.
Storage
Store the candies at room temperature until ready to serve.
Gluten Free Option
Unfortunately, Ferrero Rocher candies do contain gluten. You can make a homemade version that is gluten free using a recipe like this and wrap them in gold foil candy wrappers. Alternatively, you could make Oreo truffles using gluten free Oreos, wrapping them in gold foil wrappers.
I realize this is more work than buying the candies, but I have not been able to find a store bought equivalent to a Ferrero Rocher that is gluten free.

Easy Golden Snitch Candies
Ingredients
- 24 Ferrero Rocher hazelnut candies
- 24 gold glitter cardstock wings
- 24 adhesive circles (included with wings)
Instructions
- Optional: carefully remove the Ferrero Rocher sticker from the top of each candy.
- Fold each set of wings in the center so they make a v-shape.
- Remove the adhesive circle that comes with the wings and stick it to the fold of the wings. Carefully press the wings onto the top center of the candy.
- Repeat with the remaining candies until all of them have wings.
- Store the candies at room temperature until ready to serve.
