1½tablespoonsreduced sodium soy sauceor Worcestershire sauce or water, see note
½teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoonground black pepper
1egg
barbecue sauceoptional
6slicespepper jack cheese
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix together the soup mix, soy sauce or water, garlic powder, black pepper, and egg.
Add turkey and mix until just incorporated. Refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
Fold each slice of cheese in half, then fold those pieces in half again.
Form the meat into 6 patties, while inserting the cheese in the center, making sure it's covered on all sides. Oiling your hands with a little bit of cooking oil or cooking spray will help prevent the meat mixture from sticking to your hands.
Preheat a grill pan, outdoor grill or griddle lightly coated in cooking oil. Place patties on the grill. Cook until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F. Add barbecue sauce while grilling, if desired.
Notes
Use Worcestershire sauce or water in place of soy sauce if you want to lower the sodium.Source: Adapted from Allrecipes.comYou're Gonna Bake It After Allbakeitafterall.com
