These Golden Snitch Brigadeiros are based on the Brazilian candies and rolled in edible gold glitter to look like Golden Snitches from the Harry Potter movies. They are great for a Harry Potter themed birthday party and are naturally gluten free.
Cook and stir until thickened, about 10 minutes, until it turns into a thick paste.
Transfer the mixture into a shallow bowl and allow it to cool.
Using a 1-inch dough scoop or a spoon, scoop out the fudge and roll it into balls. Place them on a waxed paper lined baking sheet.
Pour some gold edible glitter into a bowl. Roll each ball in your hands until very smooth and then roll into the glitter to completely coat. You can reform the candy into a ball by rolling it in your hands and this will help the glitter to create a shiny metallic surface.
Insert a gold stick into each candy ball until about half way through. Place the stick upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop display.
Fold the gold glitter cardstock wings in the center to create a v-shape. Melt the chocolate chips at 50% power in the microwave in 30-second increments until just melted. Transfer the melted chocolate to a sandwich bag and push the chocolate into a bottom corner of the bag.
¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Cut a small opening in the corner. Add a dot of melted chocolate on top of the gold ball.
Place a set of gold wings, white side facing down, on the dot of chocolate. Hold the wings in place for about 30 seconds to allow the chocolate to begin to set so the wings stick. Repeat with the remaining candies.
Store the candies upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop display in the refrigerator. Allow them to come to room temperature before serving so the candy softens.
