Line a cookie sheet with a piece of wax paper or parchment paper.
Place the chocolate in a tall, narrow drinking glass and melt at 50% power in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is just melted. If your package of chocolate has melting instructions, you may follow those to melt the chocolate.
Dip a pretzel rod straight down into the chocolate. You can turn the glass on an angle and rotate the pretzel to get the chocolate higher up on the pretzel. Lift the stick out of the chocolate and allow the excess to run off.
Lay the pretzel rod down on the wax paper. Allow some of the chocolate to run off and then move the rod to another location on the paper to prevent pooling of the chocolate around the bottom of the rod.
Repeat with all of the rods. Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator to set.
After the chocolate has set, place a sandwich bag or disposable piping bag into a short drinking glass and fold the top over the edges of the glass.
Reheat the chocolate in the tall glass at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until just melted. Transfer the melted chocolate to the sandwich bag.
Seal the bag, pushing out the air. Push the chocolate to one of the bottom corners of the bag. Cut off a small tip of the corner and drizzle the chocolate over the rods back and forth to create a zig-zag pattern.
Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate to set. After the chocolate has hardened, carefully remove the rods from the wax paper and transfer to a serving platter or an airtight container.
Store the pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 to 3 weeks.
Notes
Amount of chocolate required will depend on the size and shape of your glass. You need about 5- to 6-inches deep of melted chocolate. You're Gonna Bake It After Allbakeitafterall.com
