  • 2 tablespoons red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (or 1/2 tablespoon dried)
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced fresh rosemary (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced fresh sage (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/4 teaspoon dried)

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook about 1 minutes longer. Remove from the heat and transfer to a large mixing bowl. Allow to cool.
  • Add the ground turkey, salt, pepper, herbs, and remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the bowl containing the cooled onion mixture. Mix well to blend. Divide into 4 equal portions and form into patties.
  • Grill on lightly oiled grates of a gas or charcoal grill, or cook the burgers in a pan brushed with olive oil.
